Our Story

Ian Prescott launched The Prescott Collective in 2022 as a home for the wide range of his handmade creations. Having grown up with an inextinguishable creativity, Ian spent years in Toronto pursuing a career in marketing and graphic design while slowly teaching himself the craft of woodworking. Discovering an aptitude for precision craftsmanship and a passion for fine woodworking, Ian has since expanded his workspace from a tumbledown shed at his familial cottage to a full woodshop attached to his restored Victorian home. Ian’s crafted products marry the simplicity of a contemporary aesthetic with sensible functional design to bring heirloom quality pieces into the modern household. Ian lives in the quaint village of Oakwood, Ontario where he cultivates an ever-expanding garden and pursues a self-sufficient lifestyle.
What We Do
Fine Woodworking
Fine-woodworkers share the belief that craftsmen never truly see a finished product for the once-living wood continues to move, flex and patina before settling into its final form-- a process that could take a hundred years or more. The Prescott Collective approaches each project with mindful consideration of how the materials will behave over the project’s lifetime, building pieces that not only maintain their charm and function, but will continue to develop character for decades to come. We focus on creating heirloom quality pieces of custom designed furniture, architectural elements, and historical recreations for your home.
