You will find our flat spatulas quickly become one of your most used kitchen tools. With our range of available wood options they are sure to stand out in any kitchen. If ordered as a pair you will receive two matching spatulas cut from the same piece of wood. Add on personalized laser engraving to customize your boards to your home or business.
Each one of our items is handcrafted entirely from solid hardwood and finished with food grade beeswax and oil. All items are meticulously sanded to a smooth finish that feels wonderful and wipes clean easily. As our pieces are made with a natural product there will be variations in wood grain and colour between items even within your chosen wood species. We think these variations are inherently beautiful and enrich the individual character of each product; however, we understand that you may have a preference for lighter or darker colouring in your selected wood type. If that is the case please let us know your preferences in the comments section of your order and we will do our best to accommodate based on our current stock.
While we strive to maintain stock in all items there are times when orders outpace our production capacity. We operate as a one-person shop and take great care to maintain a high standard of quality for our products, which means it may take us a few days to replenish our out of stock items. While we make every effort to send your item out within one week of ordering, please expect a two to three week lead time on your order.
Flat Spatula
-
Hand-wash only with warm water and mild dish soap.
-
Dry with a clean cloth immediately after washing, then allow to air-dry completely before putting away.
-
When your item starts looking dry/worn apply a small amount of our included wood butter using a clean cloth. Rub the wood butter into the wood then buff the surface with a clean cloth after allowing the item to rest for a few minutes. You can also use mineral oil in place of our wood butter. Do not use food-based oils as they can go rancid. If the surface of your item becomes rough to the touch you can lightly sand with 220 grit sandpaper then recoat with wood butter.
-
Highly pigmented foods, such as tomato sauce or berries, can stain wooden items. They are still safe to use if they are stained, and most stains will eventually fade.
-
All wood items move and change shape as moisture levels change within the wood. This is normal and expected. Your items have been designed with wood movement in mind.
